Floreana has an interesting history. Early settlers left a legacy of scandal, murder and intrigue, but their impact on Floreana's natural environemment was disastrous.
Post Office Barrel (a wooden barrel placed there in the 18th century by the crew of a whaling ship) and the Lava Cave are the principal attractions. Sites like Punta Cormorant is one of the best flamingo’s lagoons, and has a green sand beach, and Devil's Crown is like a picket fence formed from the remains of small volcanic cone which has been eroded away by the sea, creating in its interior an ideal habitat for several types of corals and marine life, it is perfect for snorkeling.
You will find the list on the right a quick reference to the ships that visit Floreana.
