 The small bay on Barrington's north-east coast is an extremely picturesque anchorage, which provides the visitor with two trails. One of these leads to a scenic viewpoint on top of a cliff, and eventually leading to an area where a species of land iguana which can sometimes be seen. The second trail is a short walk from the beach to an unusually tall forest of prickly pear cactus.
Santa fe surface is an eroded faulted plateau that formed when basaltic lavas oozing out of submarine fissures some four million years ago. Santa Fe is an arid zone and due to its age and isolation have allowed several endemic animals to evolve; species like land iguana, rice rat and gecko. Many playfull juvenile sea lions can be found in the turquoise lagoon with reef fish, spotted eagle rays and green sea turtles. You can see vegetation such as giant opunitas. This is also one of the best sites for Galapagos hawks, Galapagos doves, mockingbirds and lava lizards. Other birds includes cactus finches, blue footed and nazca boobies, brown pelicans and red billed tropicalbirds. Great diving outside harboor with hammerheads a major attraction. A colorful destination with turquoise waters of the channel contrasting brilliantly with the white sand and black lava of the shoreline.
